Dr. Melissa Hanke is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist specializing in pediatric and family therapy and pediatric psychological assessment. Dr. Hanke completed her Doctorate of Psychology (Ph.D.) and Cultural Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She received specific training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Conjoint Behavioral Consultation (CBC), and treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, General Anxiety Disorder, and Attention-Deficit/
Dr. Hanke has extensive experience providing individual and group therapy, and assessments in Illinois and Nebraska school systems as a School and Clinical Psychologist, in therapeutic day school programs, self-contained classrooms, and preschool programs for 30 years, prior to joining Restoring Wellness Clinical Services. She also has expertise in Child Psychology, Eco-Behavioral Parent Training, and psychological and play-based assessments. She has a range of experiences working with children, their parents, teachers, and caregivers, with varying developmental, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. Her experience also includes conducting a wide range of psychological evaluations for children (from early childhood through adolescence).
Dr. Hanke utilizes Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure-based therapies, and Family Systems Therapy, as well as play-based and parent-child relational therapy to address the client’s unique needs and goals. She is passionate about supporting parents in their mental health, as well as children with a variety of social, emotional, and behavioral concerns. Dr. Hanke is enthusiastic about her work with young adults and individuals experiencing high-stress careers in educational or health-related settings, adult caregivers, and elderly adults experiencing cognitive impairment or other health concerns.
