Prior to working as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Kerry Caschetta worked as an EMT and correctional officer while completing her Bachelors of Criminal Justice degree from the University of Cincinnati. She served on active duty in the military for four years and is currently an officer in the Coast Guard Reserves. Following her active duty enlistment, she worked in the law enforcement field while completing her second master’s degree. Since 2011, Kerry has worked as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She has obtained a Masters of School Counseling from Capella University and a Masters of Psychology from Northcentral University.
Kerry has had extensive experience working with adults and adolescents who have struggled with substance abuse and involvement in the criminal justice system, as well as, a variety of other mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, domestic violence, grief and loss, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and ODD. She has had experience in providing therapeutic services in middle and high schools, psychiatric hospitals, private practice, correctional settings, and community mental health settings.
Kerry is currently working on becoming a Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. She believes living a healthy lifestyle significantly helps with and individual’s overall well-being. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, dialectical behavioral, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Kerry strives to provide a safe and trusting environment that allows people to identify their strengths and therapeutic goals and guides them toward successfully reaching those goals.
