Kathy Urgo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 + years of working in the field. Kathy holds a Master’s of Social Work degree from Aurora University. She also earned a Bachelor’s of Psychology from Augustana College. Upon obtaining her master’s degree, Kathy joined Gower West Elementary School staff in Willowbrook, Illinois. Once at Gower West Elementary school, Kathy’s passion for working with young children flourished. She would spend the next 27 years providing individual counseling, conflict management counseling, trauma counseling, behavioral counseling, group counseling, and social skills group counseling to children. While there, she also became CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention trained. Kathy also has had experiences providing services in a psychiatric hospital unit and a high school setting.
Kathy has always had a passion for helping children gain insight into themselves, their strengths, and overall resilience. She believes every child is capable of succeeding and deserves to reach their dreams. Kathy looks forward to helping more children learn, grow and thrive.
